The Return

I’m back from my summer hiatus…and ready to relish my chance to post again about one of my passions: Fashion. This blog began as an assignment/exploration, but I enjoy the frivolity of it a little too much to end it. I’ve returned in time to obsess over the variety of sweater options I’m about to wade through. Here’s a taste of what ensembles I aspire to rock in the upcoming months. It’s good to be back. Dawn of Summer

For me, the semester is OVER. Which technically means…IT’S SUMMER. While the weather is far from summer, I’m still majorly stoked. Thus, here is a post dedicated to all things summer. 

Revamp

I’ve lost my fashion game. The days of me resisting against the casual collegiate look are gone. Sweatpants have yet to enter my fashion vernacular, but I’m definitely not rocking the wedges and skirts like I used to.

And I miss it. I miss the frivolity, the fun, the feminity of my fashion persona. Lately I’ve felt drained of a specific identity, and now I realize why. I’m dressing, frankly, quite BORING. So I’ve scoured my favorite fashion sites, and found some new inspiration for this summer and beyond. Time for a fashion revival, A REVAMP.

“Hair” We Go….

Let’s talk about hair for a minute. The kind of hair I’m dreaming of. Not only does the approaching hope of Summer beckon thoughts of hair, but also my recent mishap at the salon. After going in for red lowlights and platinum highlights, I ended up with a horrific chunky pink sideswept bang. Needless to say I was less than amused. I managed to remedy some of the situation, but the debacle left my hair a very neutral, glowy dark blonde, with a few pinkish highlights. 

But summer. Oh summer. Summer calls for light blonde - super blonde - a blonde that shouts you’re having fun in the sun.  Long. Wavy. Carefree. Braided. Who knows? So. Here are the colors/cuts that I can’t wait to go for once my hair is healthy again and shorts are in wardrobe rotation:

Denim Daze

Not sure what explains the allure of a denim shirt/jean jacket for me lately, but it’s apparent. Layered (like pictured below), or paired with a skirt, colored jeans, you name it - I’m adding it to my ensemble. It dresses down any put together outfit just a smidgen - enough to make it just casual enough for everyday. And it just reads classic Americana. I love the different twists you can take it on it as well! I’m loving it, so here’s to this phase sticking around awhile :)

Summer Dreaming…

Despite the fact that we’ve been blessed with a relatively mild winter (knock on some wood right now, if you would), but still - still - I’ve been California dreaming. Summer can’t come fast enough. Flirty sun dresses, bohemian wedges, braids…I love it all, and can’t wait to wear it all! Michael Kors spring collection especially makes me want to head out into some tropical summer sun!
